Microburst Confirmed in Bedford

The National Weather Service confirmed that a microburst in Bedford was part of the storm that blew through the area on Monday afternoon.

The National Weather Service said winds were estimated at 90 to 100 mph. The microburst caused downed trees and wires.

The NWS estimated that 50 to 70 large, healthy trees fell, snapped or were uprooted on Monday.

Some of the downed trees also caused “significant damage” to homes and cars, according to the National Weather Service.
