1. Holy Family Christmas Pageant
Where/When: 62 Monument St, Concord; 7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 7 and 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 8
Why Go: More than 60 parish youngsters present the Christmas Pageants nder the direction of parishioner and noted musician, Lauren Sprague, assisted by a cohort of teen and adult volunteers.

2. Concord Band Holiday Pops
Where/When: Friends of The Performing Arts in Concord, 51 Walden St, Concord; 8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 7 and Saturday, Dec. 8
Why Go: Guest vocalist Rene Pfister returns as the featured soloist on several pieces of the Concord Band's annual Holiday Pops concerts and will also lead the audience holiday sing-along.
Pricing: $25, $15 for children 12 and under

3. Model Train Weekend
Where/When: National Heritage Museum, 33 Marrett Road, Lexington; 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8 and 12 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9
Why Go: This family-friendly event is a perfect holiday-season outing for adults and children of all ages, accorrding to the event description. During "Model Train Weekend," the HUB Division of the National Model Railroad Association presents miles of track with trains running on multiple main lines as they chug up mountain climbs, past coal mines, through small villages and into tunnels. Some engines pull 50 cars past hundreds of charming venues including icy lakes with skaters, snow-covered farms, and urban skyscrapers.

4. Concord Museum Holiday House Tour
Where/When: Concord Museum, 53 Cambridge Tpke, Concord; 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 8 
Why Go:  Seven of Concord’s most beautiful private homes will be professionally decorated in the holiday spirit by local and Boston-based interior designers, and guests will be welcomed inside the front doors of these gracious private residences to visit the charming ground floor rooms. From Colonial to Victorian to Shingle Style and more, each house will be decorated in a different holiday theme.
Pricing: $45 by Thursday, Dec. 6; $50 the day of

5. A Master Singers Christmas
Where/When:First Parish in Lexington Unitarian Universalist, 7 Harrington Road, Lexington; 4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 9
Why Go: The chorus will perform two major works for chorus and organ, Mozart’s "Missa Brevis" and Pergolesi’s "Magnificat," before concluding with a selection of familiar carols, a Master Singers tradition. A festive reception with seasonal refreshments follows the concert.
Pricing: $23 for adults, $18 for seniors
