1. Citizens World Fair
Where/When: Cary Memorial Building, 1605 Massachusetts Ave, Lexington; 4:30 p.m., Friday, May 3
Why Go: Because it's an evening of cultural celebration and discovery in which all ages can enjoy cultural activities, songs, dance and live performances from local cultural groups and organizations. The Tanglewood Marionettes will perform "An Arabian Adventure."
Pricing: $3, with proceeds benefitting the Lexington Food Pantry

2. 9th Annual Mintue Man MARCH
Where/When: 150 Baker Avenue Ext, Concord; 9 a.m., Saturday, May 4
Why Go: The 9th annual Minute Man Arc MARCH supports individuals with developmental disabilities. So, gather a team and walk a 1.5- to 3-mile route around West Concord and then celebrate with at the finish line with entertainment, raffles, moon bounce, pony rides, games and food. Participants receive a signature tie dye t-shirt.

3. The Lexington Fife & Drum Muster
Where/When: Minute Man National Historical Park, 758 Marrett Road, Lexington; 12 p.m., Saturday, May 4
Why Go: Hosted by the William Diamond Junior Fife and Drum Corps, the Lexington Muster starts with a parade of 25 fife and drum corps from around the country. The uniformed musicians, representing different time periods in American History, then perform our nation’s historical music in an outdoor concert.

4. Making Musicals: A One-Night Only Tribute/Fundraiser for Concord Youth Theatre
Where/When: 358 Baker Ave, Concord; 7:30 p.m., Saturday, May 4
Why Go: CYT presents Making Musicals, a one-night only tribute/fundraiser for Concord Youth Theatre featuring Rene Pfister & Carly Evans. The event will celebrate 36 years of making high-quality theatre accessible and memorable for young people and their families!

5. MWS Band Concert: "A World Premiere and a Brilliant Soloist"
Where/When: Cary Memorial Building, 1605 Massachusetts Ave, Lexington; 4 p.m., Sunday, May 5
Why Go: The Metropolitan Wind Symphony's spring concert with two classic, traditional band works, Percy Grainger’s Mock Morris and Gordon Jacob’s Original Suite, followed by the world premier of a brand new MWS-commissioned work, Arctic Voices, by a young composer, Matt LaRocca, the co-winner of the 2011 Student Composer Competition. Matt’s world premiere will be followed immediately by 12-year-old wunderkind Geoffrey Gallante, trumpet soloist, performing conductor Lewis Buckley’s Yellow Rose of Texas Variations.
