1. Concord Lions Club 1st Annual Giant Flea Market
Where/When: 191 Sudbury Road, Concord; 8 a.m., Saturday, June 1
Why Go: Because it's the first-ever Concord Lions Club flea market, and they're promising a "giant" one.

2. Discovery Day
Where/When: Municpal Lot behind Michelson's Shoes, off Mass Ave and Waltham Street; 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, June 1
Why Go: More than 80 of Lexington's businesses, organizations and town departments gather for a fun-filled family-friendly street fair. Bargains, food and entertainment abound.

3. Annual Library Book Sale
Where/When: Concord Free Public Library, 129 Main St, Concord; 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, June 1
Why Go: The Friends of the Concord Free Public Library will hold their annual book sale, which covers the lawn with books priced from 50 cents to $10. Plus, local bands and singers perform, there are refreshments for sale onsite and all proceeds benefit the library.

4. LHS Landscaping - Plant Sale and Garden Tour
Where/When: Lexington High School, 251 Waltham St, Lexington; 9 a.m. to , Saturday, June 1
Why Go: If you're looking for bargains, for that special plant to round out holes in your home gardens, or to rip everything out and start over, there is something for everyone at this sale -- from healthy easy-to-grow plants to the more exotic ones and even plants from committee members' own gardens. Bring in some (healthy) plant donations from your own yards and you can take home a plant of your choice for free. Proceeds benefit the summer student worker program.

5. Harrington School Spring Fair
Where/When: Harrington Elementary School, 328 Lowell St, Lexington; 12 to 4 p.m., Sunday, June 2
Why Go: Because all of the popular favorites are back like the Giant Slide, Moon Bounce, dunk tank, fabulous food and tons of games and prizes. And you can add to that magic, animals and magic tricks with animals.
