Rounding up some of this weekends happenings in Bedford, Concord and Lexington.

1. Tom Yates and the Workingman's Band
Where/When: Concord's Colonial Inn, 48 Monument Sq, Concord; 8 p.m., Friday, April 12
Why Go: Tom Yates and the Workingman's Band will be playing classic rock hits from the 1950s and 60s.

2. Lexington Symphony Explores Third-Stream Fusion: Classical/Jazz
Where/When: Cary Memorial Building, 1605 Massachusetts Ave, Lexington; 8 p.m., Saturday, April 13
Why Go: Lexington Symphony Music Director Jonathan McPhee’s admiration for mentor Leonard Bernstein informs this special program exploring "Third Stream" -- a synthesis of classical music and jazz. Bernstein’s symphonic suite On the Waterfront, a symphonic arrangement of Gershwin’s great American opera Porgy and Bess (which Bernstein championed), and Howard Brubeck’s Dialogues for Jazz Combo and Orchestra (which Bernstein premiered) come together in this celebration of American music. Special pre-concert conductor’s talk about Bernstein offered at 7 p.m.

3. Mostly Waltz
Where/When: , 74 Walden St, Concord; 2 p.m., Sunday, April 14
Why Go: The Folk Arts Center of New England is offering an afternoon of waltzing and other couple dancing to live music. The afternoon starts with a waltz lesson from 2 to 3 p.m., followed by live music for waltzing and other couple dances from 3 to 5:30 p.m.

Where/When: Friends of The Performing Arts in Concord, 51 Walden St, Concord; 3 p.m., Sunday, April 14
Why Go: Violinist Yevgeny Kutik, cellist Jan Müller-Szeraws, and pianist Ya-Fei Chuang performing the works of Mendelssohn, Barber, and Brahms.

5. Colonial Music and Dance
Where/When: Lexington Depot, 13 Depot Square, Lexington; 8 p.m., Sunday, April 14
Why Go: Because you can join the Lexington Historical Society's "Colonial Singers" and friends for an evening of Revolutionary era songs and period dance in honor of Patriots' Day.
