Weekend Planner: Old-Time Baseball, an Orchard House Tour and Discovery Day

1. Relinquished Treasures Sale
Where/When: Lexington Depot, 13 Depot Square, Lexington; 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, May 25
Why Go: For the fantastic bargains at the Lexington Historical Society's annual Relinquished Treasures Sale, featuring artwork, china, silver, linens, rugs, housewares, collectibles and more.

2. Discovery Day
Where/When: Municpal Lot behind Michelson's Shoes, off Mass Ave and Waltham Street; 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, May 25
Why Go: More than 80 of Lexington's businesses, organizations and town departments gather for a fun-filled family-friendly street fair. Bargains, food and entertainment abound.

3. "Welcome to Our Home"
Where/When: Louisa May Alcott's Orchard House, 399 Lexington Road, Concord; 4:45 to 5:45 p.m., Saturday, May 25
Why Go: For a "living history" tour of Orchard House, which
Pricing: $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and colelge students, $8 for youths (ages 6 to 17 years), $4 to chidren aged 2 to 6 years and $30 family rate for two adults and up to four youths.

4. Old Time Baseball Game & Clinic
Where/When: Center Recreation Complex, 90 Worthen Road, Lexington; 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday, May 26
Why Go: There will be games, contests, music and more geared for kids and adults throughout the day. Plus, baseball! Several mini games will be played with the rules from late 1880's, including contests between teams made up of the Lexington Police and Fire departments and local baseball volunteers vs. the Essex Baseball Team.

5. Carolyn Curtis - Author Visit & Storytime
Where/When: Barefoot Books, 89 Thoreau St, Concord; 3 p.m., Sunday, May 26
Why Go: "I Took the Moon for a Walk" author Carolyn Curtis will stop by Barefoot Books in Concord for special storytime about all things nocturnal, complete with singing, simple puppets and a craft. Curtis will be signing books at the end of the event as well.
