Week in Review: Feb. 4- Feb. 10

1366 Technologies last week held the grand opening of a 42,000 square-foot Bedford factory where the company will manufacture solar wafers. The 25 megawatt manufacturing facility, located at 6 Preston Court in Bedford, will employ 100 people and will focus on the production of the Direct Wafer.

, according to statistics gathered by the Warren Group, the Boston-based real estate and banking information publishers for New England. At the end of 2012, Bedford had a total of 2 foreclosure deeds, compared to the one completed in 2011.

In case you missed it, the results are in. We have a winner of the Lane School First Annual Soup-er Bowl. The week before Super Bowl XLVII, Lane School faculty challenged students to raise 1,128 non-perishable food items (47 from each class) for the Bedford Food Bank. Students more than met the Soup-er Bowl challenge, nearly doubling their original goal with a total of 2,122 food items raised by Friday, Feb. 1.

Right after Gov. Patrick lifted the travel ban on Saturday, Bedford Patch took a drive around town to see what Bedford looked like buried under a few feet of snow. Check out our video of the snow removal process, and check out our photos to see exactly how high the snow was piled.
