Middlesex Community College Offers SHRM® HR Essentials Course

Interested in starting a career in human resources? Registration is now open for Middlesex Community College’s Community Education & Training noncredit Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM®) Human Resource Essentials course. Classes meet Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Bedford campus, and run Oct. 18 through Nov. 1.

 

This 15-hour, noncredit introductory course offers a comprehensive overview of human resource roles and responsibilities. It will provide participants with critical knowledge to help reduce potentially costly lawsuits and improve the ability to handle challenging HR issues. This course is ideal for those who are just starting out in the human resource profession, small business owners, or those who are looking for an effective way to improve their employee management skills.

Topics covered include, human resources management, employment law, recruitment and selection, compensation and benefits, employee development, and performance management.

In cooperation with SHRM®, 1.5 CEUs and a certificate will be awarded upon successful completion of all hours. Partial credit is not awarded. The cost of this course is $595 and includes all SHRM® study materials. Course is eligible for Commonwealth of MA employee tuition wavier for tuition fee only. The deadline to register is Tuesday, Oct. 7.
