The caravan of donations collected by the Bedford Police Department for those affected by Hurricane Sandy on Staten Island left this morning.

The Bedford Police Department, along with former Emergency Communication Officer Dan Carroll, organized a food and clothing drive for victims of Hurricane Sandy on Staten Island.

Friday morning Carroll left for Staten Island with the mountain of food, clothes, pet food, childrens toys and more that were donated by local businesses and residents. The caravan of donations will also stop at several locations en route to pick up more donations from family friends and well-wishers.
