Police Log: An OUI Arrest at Wilson Park

The following information was provided by the Bedford Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

 

Monday, Feb. 11

12:59 a.m.- The Bedford Police Department received a call reporting a van parked at CVS with its tailpipe embedded in a snow bank. The caller was concerned because the van was running and there was no one else around. The responding officer reported their were two vans parked in the parking lot, both unoccupied.

7:39 a.m.- A caller reported a school bus appeared to be stuck in the snow on Concord Road near the town line. The responding officer reported he did not find a school bus upon checking the area.

8:20 a.m.- A caller reported a suspicious male, around 35 years old and wearing a tan jacket and jeans, was taking pictures of John Glenn Middle School. The individuals liscense plate came back as a DPW worker.

8:25 a.m.- Police received a call reporting a one car accident on the Middlesex Turnpike near Boardroom Bistro. The responding officers reported they checked the area and could not locate the vehicle.

9:15 a.m.- A caller reported her car had slid into a snow bank near 122 Page Road. The responding officers reported the car would need to be pulled out of the snow bank, and a tow truck was called.

12:33 p.m.- Police received a call reporting a car being operated erratically, swerving all over the road, braking and hit a snow bank on Concord Road heading eastbound. The caller reported the car made a left turn into the Avalon Apartments. The responding officers reported they were unable to make contact with the owner at the vehicle at the registered owners address. 

12:53 p.m.- An officer reported a motor vehicle accident with possible injury at Wilson Park. Michael O'Brien, of 12 McMahon Road in Bedford, was placed under arrest for operating under the influence of liquor. This was O'Brien's second OUI offense, according to Det. Lt. Scott Jones. 

1:36 p.m.- A resident of Dunster Road reported she observed suspicious males exiting a red van and carrying ladders toward her house. The caller said she was worried they were breaking into her house. The responding officers reported the men were there to clear snow from the roof of the house, as they had been hired to do the previous year.

2:03 p.m.- A caller reported the sidewalks on Summer Street were not plowed and the children from the bus stop have to walk in the roadway where vehicles were travelling at a high rate of speed. The DPW was notified. 

6:24 p.m.- Police received a call reporting three suspicious individuals soliciting for Comcast in the area of Neillian Street and Evergreen Avenue. The responding officer reported the people were gone on arrival.

7:29 p.m.- An individual came into the police station to report a hit and run crash in the parking lot of CVS.

8:12 p.m.- Police received a call reporting a vehicle off the road on Springs Road just past Fox Run Road. The responding officer reported there was no damage to the vehicle, and a passerby assisted in getting the vehicle back on the road.
