Police Log: An OUI Arrest on Railroad Ave.

The following information was provided by the Bedford Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

 

Saturday, Feb. 2

7:22 a.m.- The Bedford Police Department received a call reporting construction being done in the violation of town by-law regulations at 3 Mae Road. The responding officers spoke with the workers who said they would stop working until 8 a.m.

11:03 a.m.- Police received a call from a resident of Meadowbrook Road reporting a suspicious dark colored Cadillac in the area. The caller reported the operator of the vehicle made motions with a stick toward her husband. The responding officers found the individual in question who reported he was using the stick to try and get his dog back in his car.

12:37 p.m.- A caller reported two males in the woods near Hillside Avenue who appeared to be near a fire. The responding officer reported there was no fire and he sent the individual on his way.

1:34 p.m.- Police received a call reporting a suspicious male in the area of Homestead Circle. An officer located the individual in question, who was soliciting for Comcast. He was advised of the town by-law and left the area.

2:28 p.m.- An individual came into the police station to turn in a pocketbook they had found on Old Billerica Road. An officer took control of the property and attempted to contact the owner.

10:52 p.m.- Police received a call reporting a vehicle had driven off the roadway on Railroad Avenue near the ball fields. The responding officer reported Joseph Cunningham, of 209 School St. in Acton, was arrested for operating under the influence of liquor and marked lane violations. 

Sunday, Feb. 3

1:37 p.m.- Police received a call reporting a red-brown Cocker Spaniel wearing a Red Sox collar missing from Chelmsford. The caller reported the dog had been missing for several days.

2:58 p.m.- Police received call reporting a tent set up in front of a building at Middlesex Community College. A MCC Security officer requested to speak with a BPD officer regarding the tent. The responding officer located the tent and reported there was property inside the tent.

5:01 p.m.- Police received a call reporting the odor of natural gas in the area of the Route 3 off ramp at Burlington Road. Responding emergency personnel reported a slight odor of natural gas under the overpass on Burlington Road.
