Police Log: Shoplifting at Marshalls and an Arrest

The following information was provided by the Bedford Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

 

Thursday, Jan. 17

8:05 a.m.- Police received a call reporting a loose dog on Great Road between Sunset Road and Orchard Road. The responding officer was able to get the dog back into its owners yard. The owner was notified.

8:35 a.m.- A speeding motorist left two construction workers on a detail near 180 Hartwell Road injured. While the operator was only travelling approximately 20 to 30 mph at the time of the crash, solar glare played a role in the vehicle striking the two construction workers. Hartwell Road was closed for much of the day, and the two men were transported to Lahey Clinic by ambulance. The driver was cited for speeding. 

12:03 p.m.- The Bedford Police Department received a call from Marshalls requesting an idenfication verification on a shoplifting suspect. The responding officer spoke with the individual who was escorted off the property and told not to return. Marshalls did not wish to press charges.

8:02 p.m.- Police received a call requesting officers check on a resident of Battle Flag Road. The caller reported she was supposed to tutor the daughter of a resident of Battle Flag Road at the Bedford Free Public Library, but she never showed up. The reporting person then drove by the residence on Battle Flag Road and observed all the lights were on and the front door and the garage door were wide open. The responding officer spoke with the homeowner who said she was in a rush, and left the door open when she had gone out earlier. 

Friday, Jan. 18

7:08 a.m.- A resident of Hume Road called to report her carbon monixide detector was beeping. The caller said she changed the battery but was unsure if there was a problem or no. The responding officer reported no carbon monoxide was detected at the residence.

10:43 a.m.- A resident of 56 Old Billerica Road reported ten minutes prior to calling he had observed a male attempting to gain entry to his front door. The individual fled the area after being observed. The suspect did not gain entry to the residence. Police are looking for a male wearing a gray sweatshirt with the hood up, gray sweatpants and wearing a black backpack.

2:01 p.m.- Jean Jordan was placed under arrest on an outstanding warrant following a motor vehicle stop near 200 Great Road. 

6:43 p.m.- A resident of Foster Road reported property damage to his vehicle. 

8:11 p.m.- Police received a call reporting a two car accident with no injuries in front of 27 Concord Road.
