Bedford Police Log: Bikers Attacked by Dogs, 10-Year Old Left in Charge of Other Children

The following information was provided by the Bedford Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Aug. 19:

A mailman noticed that the garage door was open at a house on Lantern Lane. Officers checked the home and nothing was out of order, then they secured the home.

A mother and son said they have two bad encounters with a woman and her two dogs – a yellow lab and a dark brown puppy. The dogs jumped on them as they rode on the bike path and the mother fell off her bike. The puppy nipped at her hand but did not break the skin. She was not hurt but was upset. After the incident the dog owner became irate and yelled at the mother and son.

A Bedford Farms employee reported that a transformer exploded near the building and caught on fire. The Fire Department went out and NSTAR was called to fix the problem.

Children were found unattended in a vehicle in the Whole Foods parking lot. An officer talked to the driver and suggested that a 10 year old may not be old enough to be left in charge of other children.

 

Aug. 21:

A young man in a Honda parked near a stop sign on Wheeler Road overnight. He had a laptop and ducked down if someone goes near the vehicle. The man told an officer that he was waiting to talk to an ex-girlfriend. The officer said the man left the area.

A man in a white mini van reportedly followed two girls near the library. The driver parked at the library then drove off. The driver was described as a white man, 45-50 years old with blond/gray hair.

 

Aug. 22:

A car was stopped on the Great Road. Nicholas Robles, 26, of Bedford, was arrested for driving with a suspended license – a subsequent offense.
