Bedford Police Log: Pair Arrested on Drug Charges, Suspicious Man in Woods

The following information was provided by the Bedford Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Aug. 5:

A suspicious man was reported in the woods near Reeves Road. Police went out and talk to the man, who was from Texas and was Geo-caching –hunting for a hidden item using GPS devices.

Aug. 6:

Police went to check out a disabled vehicle on Old Billerica Road and discovered the two occupants and drugs on them. Nicholas Williamson, 19, of Bedford, was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence of drugs, and both Wiliamson and Jacob Berg, 18, of Bedford, were arrested on a charge of possession of a Class D drug (marijuana) with intent to distribute, according to Bedford Police Lt. Scott Jones.

Police received multiple calls about noise that sounded like gunshots coming from the Shawsheen Cemetery. Officers went to the area and found that a group of youths that said they had been setting off fire works.

 

Aug. 7:

A man was found sleeping in his car on the side of Plank Street. An officer told the man to move the car off the road into a parking lot.

A bicycle was stolen from Sweetwater Avenue.
